SEA hosts a number of weekly events, from brown bag lunches to happy hours to skills workshops. SEA members also volunteer throughout New York City.

SEA = education + networking + advocacy

SEA is a student-run organization dedicated to building relationships among SIPA students and energy sector practitioners in the field. In tandem with industry leaders, SEA further endeavors to educate SIPA students about professional opportunities in energy and to foster information-sharing that complements SIPA's curriculum in Energy and Environment. SEA's diverse membership brings a variety of professional backgrounds to the organization. Its student members are enrolled in a number of Columbia University programs and SIPA concentrations, including energy, finance, environmental policy, development, sustainability and security. SEA's members look forward to careers in fields that will directly impact the world's energy future.

Aly Azhar

Co-President
Aly is a first-year MPA candidate concentrating in Energy and Environment. Aly is passionate about climate change policy, renewable energy, and sustainability and excited for everything the SEA has planned for 2019.

Carlos Molina

Co-President
Master in Public Administration candidate at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), with previous work experience in the Power and Oil & Gas sectors.

Fan Yu

Vice-President
As a Global Energy Management graduate student at Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs, Fan is passionate about energy markets especially oil and gas industry.

Ludwig van Bedolla

Treasurer
MPA candidate concentrating in Energy and Environment at Columbia University. Currently working on sustainable development, energy efficiency and sustainable energy solutions for developing countries.

Former Energy Policy Consultant at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (expertise areas: infrastructure financing, nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management).

Co-Director of Women in Energy
Ann is a First-Year MPA Student at Columbia SIPA concentrating in Energy & Environment. She is interested in the role that cities play in the energy transition and mitigating climate change.

Daniela G. Santoyo

Co-Director of Women in Energy
Daniela is an MPA candidate, concentrating in Energy and Environment. She is currently working on energy efficiency, as well as on the use of clean energy and sustainable energy solutions in urban areas.

Lauren Kastner

Lauren is a first-year Master of Public Administration candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, with a concentration in Energy and Environment and Management.

Ethan Tsai

Co-Director of External Outreach
Ethan is a MIA candidate focusing on Energy and Environment. For the past three years, Ethan’s work with the G20 Research Group, have led him to focus on the mitigation of greenhouse gas and energy efficiency.

Haeun Kim

Director of Membership and Outreach
Haeun is an MPA candidate at SIPA, concentrating in Energy and Environment. Haeun is interested in the climate change finance for energy sector, and infrastructure management.

Jim Kobus

Jim is an MIA candidate at Columbia SIPA, concentrating in Energy and Environment. Prior to SIPA, he worked at The D.E. Shaw Group, investing in energy companies.

Jeffrey Chen

Symposium Team
Jeffrey is currently pursuing his Master of International Affairs in environmental policy at SIPA. He has more than three years of work experience with environmental and energy projects in LDCs and SIDS.
